Forced Connections #04

So I went to Holland Village for the first time, I found this cute cafe which has library in it. I instantly fell in love with this place because not only that we can have our meal, we can also enjoy reading the books and we can also have like a group project here, hanging out and yet still have a good meal in our tummies.

Forced Connection #02

Krispy Kreme Glazed Doughnut + Burger? Sounds weird but to those who has not tried this should definitely try it! People might thought how something so sweet could be combined with something taste salty? Turned out it tastes great! People in The States usually enjoyed this meal while they watch the football game

Forced Connection #01

This is a garment steamer with hanger on it. Sometimes, it's hard to steam iron clothes because you have to hold the hanger by yourself, it's tiring if you have loads of clothes so Rowenta made this garment steamer comes with hanger itself (also clips to hold the clothes) to simplify people using it. Moreover it is a safe of space too. It can be lowered to store it in storage room too.

Bees

So in class, we were given a question which was: the window at the back of the room is open. There is a table with a vase, in which a fresh rose stands. A painting of flowers hangs on the opposite qall. A bee flies into the room through the open window straight to the painting and not the rose. Why?
This is my class' answers.

Tips #01

Benefit of Mind-Mapping

One of the benefit we get from doing mind map is the getting more idea from one idea. Sometimes it is like a bright point for your project because at some point we tend to forget little things that matter so mind mapping basically helps us remembering those things.

In creative thinking, we had to make a mind map about boredom in group. So one of the solution to get out from boredom was focusing on your target. So this is my target: Get every projects done!

Mind-mapping: Categorising

So today I learnt that categorising is one of the part of mind-mapping. And today I went to Jamie's Italian for dinner with my sisters before they head back to Indonesia tomorrow. I then I realised that they categorise their menu.

See how they categorise their food to appetizer, pasta (since it's Italian food), main course, and desserts. And I love their design too.

P.S. : The food was delish!

The Craziest Brainstorming

3 Years ago, when I was in my first year of High School, I joined a school organization called Mandiri. It is an organization that does art competitions and create an annual magazine for the students. Anyway, every year we participated on a competition held by a local newspaper that is to create Wall Magazines but not just a wall magazines you found on a school board, There is 10 days convention that shows our works to be watched by people. The schools that participate have to submit a 3D Wall Magazines that is 175cm x 175cm x 175cm, a 2D Wall Magazines that is 175cm x 175cm x 25cm, and a Moving Wall Magazines that is 50cm x 50cm x 50cm. My school has been participating the competition since it starts and we have won 3rd Place in 2008 and 1st Place in 2009. Well, anyway you may be thinking what this got to do with Brainstorming. Picture this: The competition started on November, The team which was 20 people started on the end of July, The theme was ‘Make People Laugh’, The deadline was on the early November so we started to brainstorm for 3 weeks deciding what we want to make, what theme we wanted to do since we did not want something too common so out of the box but still stick to the main theme, with what do we wanted to make it. All in all, It was the most crazy thing I have ever done but yet the most proud thing ever too. The outcome was very satisfying. It was worth every sweat, every tears, every exhausting days spent, every sleepless nights.

This is the 3D Wall Magazines, The Articles were on the wall behind.
This one was the 2D. It was an interactive Wall Magazines, you could press the button on the belly button and it will laugh!
This one made of Shoes (the desk). It was made for 2 days and had to be made in the convention place by 2 people.
And YEAY! My school won the 1st Place!

P.S.: I lost my Moving Wall Magazine Picture :(

Things i do before Brainstorm

When i need to brainstorm, i need relaxation. Clearing my mind. Thus i always have food to help me clear my mind and help me brainstorm.

Secondly, i hate it to be in like close space when i want to brainstorm. I always find it dull so i always have like this 1 day off to have fun.

And i think that two simple thing help me everytime i need to clear my mind and help me brainstorm.

Taylor Says

Taylor Reeve, a shoes designer made it big when she put a twist on fashion becoming one of the first artist who draws on heels soles. Drawing on a wide array of influences from street and pop art to graffiti, tattoo and kustom kulture, Taylor truly has her own style.

What fascinated me is usually people only use 1 colour on soles, the famous one is the red soles one and Taylor decided to draw on it made it different with others.

Breaking Habits.

One of my habits I just recognised lately is when i walk alone i tried my best to be busy with my phone or other things because i always have this thought that i would look rather goofy if i don't do anything, like a lost puppy. Thus, this past days i started to put my phone in my bag and just took it out to capture things that i didn't recognise which turned out to be inspiring when i walked alone. I started to see things i didn't see usually some inspires me, some amused me, some even made me giggling.
